How to visit the Mountain of the 7 colors?

Also known as the Rainbow Mountain (Cerro Colorado or Seven Colors Mountain), its real name is Vinicunca, which comes from the Quechua «wini», which means stones, and «kunka», which means neck, referring to the particular shape of its summit.

Before 2015, it was necessary to hike Ausangate in the Cordillera Vilcanota to get there, but thanks to its growing popularity, today the 1-day or 2-day toour from Cusco directly to Vinicunca is offered.

More and more travelers consider it one of the great must-sees of Peru, almost like Machu Picchu.
