This Valley was the middle of Tahuantinsuyo, the most important recognized empire within the Western Hemisphere, spanning from Colombia and Ecuador, passing by Peru and Bolivia to the northern part of Argentina and Chile. Its capital is Cusco, which was referred to as the “navel of the world.”
